had the honor of building a playground in his hometown of LONGVIEW, TX. On FRIDAY, OCTOBER 13th, over 200 volunteers from the city, THE HOME DEPOT and KaBOOM! joined NEAL, his wife MELINDA, his mother-in-law PATSY and LONGVIEW mayor JAY DEAN to haul mulch, paint benches and build a great playground for the local children. Country WPXK (KIX 97.9)/SPRINGFIELD
recently did a promotion based on the MTV "Pimp My Ride" show where they had listeners send in photos and stories of why their car should be "KIXED out." The station narrowed all the entries down to 5 and the listeners chose a 1965 Chevy pick-up that needed a lot of work. The final product had a great new sound system featuring 2 TV screens, a whole new bed on the truck and an amazing paint job.

morning co-host RICK STEPHENSON lost more than his shirt in a bet with his co-workers that the MURRAY BAKER BRIDGE would reach completion on the target date of SUNDAY (10/2). As you can see in the photo below, the construction was completed and STEPHENSON had to do the MONDAY morning (10/3) show from the roof of the station wearing nothing but an orange construction barrel.

Music City chapter recently came to the aid of the NASHVILLE HUMANE ASSOCIATION's effort to help animals impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. During a recent chapter meeting, members donated a variety of pet products, including kennels, collars, food and animal toys. The items will assist with relief efforts in the Gulf Coast region.
